The Alfa Romeo 1300 Spider Junior was launched in early June 1968 aimed for the Italian market. UK imports ceased Oct 69
Headlamps uncowled and set back as on the US versions of the Duetto.
Front side indicators moved forward of the front wheels
Rear side indicators (new)
Lower front bumpers painted black
Fixed quarter-lights
Hubcaps were same as early 1300GT Junior
15in wheels and 155 tyres standard, 14in and 165 tyres optional
Bootlid badge
No door mirror
Steering wheel (two-spoke)
Ashtray with no cigar lighter
Seats (with no tilt knob)
Rev counter red-lined at 5750rpm (rather than 6300rpm)
Door strike plate/catch is different in 1970 brochure (v 1968 1750 brochure)
Engine - basically same as GT Junior
Choice of Dellorto DHLA40 Solex C40 DDH-4 Weber 40DCOE-28 carbs + different choice of air cleaner/filter
Same mechanical clutch as on the 1600 Duetto was fitted on the first bunch of Juniors. Later in 1968 Alfa mixed between hydralic and mechanical clutch. Visible in the engine bay. Mechanical clutch Juniors don't have the twin fluid reservoir.
Later Juniuors equipped with a single-plate hydraulic clutch
Dual-circuit servo-assisted braking system (from Jan 1969) but not on every Junior. Again, Alfa took what was on the shelf.
Please note that 1300 w/Kamm tail 1970 on retains old door handles + painted dash
