and here is
my Spider up in the mountains. I still remember the winding roads
under the Italian sun. |
Pian
di'Sco
We washed our Spiders once again, by hand in Pian
di'Sco.
|
I am checking
the finish after the washing. OK! It feels so good to wash your
Spider in the warmth of Italy. |
|
|
|
No high-tech
but very clean afterwards. All the job was done by hand, no
automatic device here. |
This old
gentleman did all the work himself. He was smoking all the time and
we were a bit scared he might pass away before he was finished.
Funny thing, he did not show any emotion at all about the two 1967
Duettos. Strange, most Italians were very exited. |
Firenze
Driving through Firenze was a night-mare. Everyone
had their own traffic rules. It was very, very hot in the sun. The
traffic was so intensive, we did not even have time to take any more
pictures. |

Citta
di Castello/ Umbria
So when we arrived at Citta di Castello the pool
was waiting. So were our Italian friends.

Hotel Garden
turned out to be a very good choice. Beautiful rooms and AC
and other facilities made the stay very pleasant.

Some of the
Spiders who were first in line found some shade under the trees. It
was very warm during our stay here. |
|
|
|
The others
had to park out in the parking-lot and the sun. |
Ready to go.
This is a Giulietta Spider 1300 from 1957, very rare. Owned by a
real "Contessa". She was from Rimini! |
What do you
say, the Pininfarina design is perfect, right? |

Thomas is
revving up his engine for an over-take. |
The
Duettoclub.it had prepared a brake with antipasti and mineral water
for the drivers and wine and beer for the co-drivers. The typical
Umbrian cuisine at its best! |
Lots of
brakes and snacks in the sun. |
|
|
|
There were
lots of nice places to see and drive through and around. |
I am fully
focused on following that car. |
Nice view in
the mirror. Photo taken from an S4 Spider, I think it was
Massimiliano who was the photographer. |

One of the
castles we visited in Umbria. |
We drove in
one line like in a convoy. The people were very enthusiastic. |
